Eggless Cold Water Chocolate Cake
This chocolate cake doesn’t need eggs, doesn’t need milk but just simple ingredients and cold water. Yes! Cold water and somehow, it gives the cake the most surprisingly moist, soft and chocolatey texture. If you ever want a chocolate cake that is easy, budget friendly, beginner friendly and still delicious enough to pass as café quality, this is the one to try.
Ingredients
Dry Ingredients
• 188g all-purpose flour
• 25g cocoa powder
• 1/4 tsp salt
• 1 tsp baking soda
• 200g sugar
Wet Ingredients
• 2 cups cold water
• 1/2 cup oil
• 1/2 tsp vanilla flavor
Chocolate Whipped Cream
• 75g cold water
• 75g whipping cream
• 10g cocoa powder
Instructions — Cake
1. Add all the dry ingredients into a clean bowl.
2. Add all the wet ingredients into a separate bowl.
3. Pour the wet mixture into the dry mixture.
4. Mix gently until everything is well incorporated (do not over-mix).
5. Pour into a prepared baking pan.
6. Bake at 160°C until done (a toothpick inserted should come out clean).
Allow the cake to cool completely before frosting.
Instructions — Chocolate Whipped Cream
1. Combine cold water and whipping cream in a mixing bowl.
2. Whisk for about 5 minutes or until stiff peaks form.
3. Add cocoa powder and mix again until fully combined.
4. Refrigerate the cream until ready to use.
